Professional
In 2020, Zach Schmidt and his team’s hard work and dedication to their clients’ needs was recognized when he reached FORUM, a recognition awarded to top advisors, for the first time. He became the first traditional advisor in Northwestern Mutual – Montana to reach this achievement. Since then, Waypoint Wealth Management has consistently reached FORUM status in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024.
In 2023, Zach became a Top 10 leader among all Northwestern Mutual Advisors in the Western Region.
Zach and his team were named 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 Financial Representative Team of the Year for Northwestern Mutual – Montana. Schmidt earned the award for new clients, life insurance policies, and premium totals.
Zach also became a qualifier for Northwestern Mutual 2018 Lives Leader Summit and was able to attend a meeting held in San Antonio, TX, where he networked with industry leaders to gather tips and tools to create a better client experience.
In 2017, Schmidt was named a "Top 20 Under 40" for business professionals by the Bozeman Daily Chronicle. *

Personal
Zach and his wife Nicole were married in 2016. They have four boys and together they enjoy camping, traveling, and Taco Tuesdays. To burn off his extra energy, Zach is an avid runner and has participated in some of the most grueling running events in Montana, such as The Rut Mountain Runs in Big Sky. He also has an extensive record collection, loves to attend concerts, and takes an annual fishing trip to Alaska.
